West Cork for Gaza Clonakilty are donating all proceeds equally between 3 charities from 3 of the events, see following.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
MAP’s programmes, designed and delivered by Palestinians, provide access to health services and build knowledge and skills to address local health problems.

Trócaire deploys an emergency medical team, provides hygiene kits, blankets, mattresses, medical supplies while advocating for change and social justice.
Gaza go Bragh

Gaza go Bragh collects donations through grassroots fundraisers to deliver water, food, and tents to those in need, especially in the camps of the displaced.
West Cork for Gaza have not prescribed particular charities but have encouraged event organisers to target famine relief, medical aid, education and mental health. Some of the organisations and people participating will have made connections with certain charities during this time.

West Cork for Gaza are welcoming you to a night of entertainment and stimulation. We have three plays for you to enjoy, followed by discussions and historical debates by historians and writers
Drama: 7:30 – 9:00
‘Footnotes’ – Written/directed and performed by Irene Kelleher (Duration- 1 hour). Irene is a professional actress who has written a number of plays for the stage and radio, including ‘Mary and Me’ and ‘The Misfit Mythology
’‘Save the Last Dance for me’ – performed by the enhancing Ray Cooney of Kilmeen drama group, written and directed by Kieran Doyle, of ‘Smugglers’ and ‘Homeless’ (Duration -15 minutes)
One of the directors and actors with Kilmeen Drama Group, Donnie Walsh and the versatile and experienced actress Caroline Conway – “Trapped” (Duration 15 minutes)
9:15-10:15 p.m.: Historical Discussion/debate:
Followed by a Q and A
Featuring historians: Dominic Carroll (historical editor, writer, activist), Cal McCarthy ( Multiple-author and researcher with Michael Collins House Museum), Ray Cooney (teacher, actor and writer), Kieran Doyle (teacher, author and journalist), who will discuss and talk about Palestine, Israel, colonialism and Irish revolutionaries and Nasser Al-Swirkiwill, from Palestine, film maker, director, actor and activist will also feature on the panel.

1:00pm – 1:30pm: Clonakilty Brass Band
Ger Condon, musical director and the award winning Clonakilty Brass Band will bring their exciting repertoire of music to inspire, sooth and entertain.An afternoon of writers, poets and musicians:
1:45 – 3:15 p.m.: Poets, Writers and Music
There will be an eclectic line up of poets and writers including the highly popular and long-established poet Dave Lordan former winner of the ‘Patrick Kavanagh Award’; insightful teacher poet Dr. Sharon Kingston; painter, poet and novelist James Waller; Tina Piscoe, author of two acclaimed novels, (including ‘Only a paper Moon’) and poetry collections, Joe O’Brien (local poet and writer); as well as a few more guests. They will be accompanied by a number of musicians, Kevin MacNally acclaimed musician and musical teacher and one of the curators of the ‘International Guitar Festival’, Grit Glass whose melodic harp music will entrance you, local musicians Amy Moriarty and Caitlin McGinn will play Bach’s fifth suite for unaccompanied cello, and a few more guests. John Noonan, a musician of extraordinary talent will also treat us to some music.

Mega Music concert: One night for Gaza

St Mary’s theatre in Rossmore, will host its very own version of Live Aid. Inspired by Bob Geldof’s Live Aid concert for the famine victims in Ethiopia of the 1980’s, westcorkforgaza has brought some of the biggest, brightest and most popular bands from Cork and further afield to perform in a unique, once off musical delight. Sharing the stage, each group and/or singer will perform one of their songs inside the beautiful auditorium that is Saint Mary’s Theatre. This varied and electric lineup will be aided by present and past pupils from Scoil na mBuachailli and the MC for the night will be Seamus Barry.

DeBarra’s Palooza for Palestine

From November 28th to 30th, a series of events and fundraisers titled ‘West Cork for Gaza’ will occur throughout West Cork, uniting our community to raise funds to try help alleviate some of the immense suffering of the people of Palestine. As part of this community action, on Sunday the 30th of November, from 12 noon to 11pm, musicians, authors, comedians and activists will gather in DeBarra’s for a day-long event to raise much needed funds for the devastated population of the region.
For the whole day – DeBarra’s will be strictly ticketed from the front door to the back gate as the entirety of this storied 200 year old building will be given over to acoustic sessions, full production performances, DJ sets and recitations.
Tickets are €50 which will grant you access to the event- With all funds being donated to Tea Collective Upon entry to the venue wrist bands will be given to ticket holders which will allow re entry throughout the day.
*NB Tickets are non transferable and non-refundable. The Full schedule of events will be released the week before the event.

As part of West Cork for Gaza, The Green Dot is very proud to host a family-friendly day of crafts, community art and music from local youth choirs and groups. This will be a drop-in day with people encouraged to donate what they can. Details to follow closer to the day.
